Sailor stands in new garb from zhik

Zhik has launched a women’s specific hiking range. The company believes its a market-first development. Its Superwarm and Microfleece hikers are a third evolution of the successful concept, developed for and successfully winning gold at the 2021 Olympic Games. Refined over ten years in an ongoing collaboration with athletes, each suit includes a range of features that are crucially cut for women. And, with a velcro chest panel and shoulder straps, they’re being marketed as a universal fit.

Both ranges are said to provide flexibility and range of motion, extended reinforcement areas to prevent wear, plus internal silicone grippers to secure the pads during intense movements. They provide athletes with the endurance and comfort required to elevate performance to the next level, says Zhik which earlier this year declared it was getting serious about women’s sizing.

They’ve got integrated knee pads for protection, and integrated fibreglass hiking pads with high rise reinforcement panels throughout entire leg. Plus, there’re internal silicon grippers at ankle and feature adjustable leg length with ready to cut bartacks.

Stand-out features include removable EVA foam pads for added hiking height, internal silicon print for stable hiking and GBS seams. More details will be available on Zhik’s website.

“This is the first dedicated women’s hiker on the world market, tested and proven to put women’s comfort and endurance to the top of the agenda in their sport,” says Johnny Rodgers, marketing partnerships and global sponsorships manager.
