It's was still dark out, with the Moon almost totally full when I started this. When you look out the next two nights you will bathe in the sun’s full reflected brilliance off our moon! It is nice on the Ocean at night with the full moon. As I finish writing the sun is now up.

Despite being in water that is 15,000 feet deep, and just half way between West Africa and Antigua, when you can only see to the horizon it all looks the same. We are now 1099 miles away from — Antigua and about 100 miles less distance away from the Cape Verde Islands.

We show our position as Latitude 17 degrees, 01 minute North, Longitude 42 degrees, 22 minutes West.

We are now going straight west most of the time, hanging on the 17th
degree line…which we are told will take us to Antigua. Sue is sleeping the sleep of the exhausted. I have an hour to go and will retire just about sunup… fifteen minutes from now.

Saw many many flying fish yestrdsay… the sparrows of the sea IMHO.
Always coming up and flying 50 or more yards with the wind on their
little wings.

After my birthday today, tomorrow is the anniversary of our marriage
in 2002. We will also celebrate being past the middle part of the
Atlantic Ocean.

We ran our engine for about 3 hours last night to charge our
refrigerator and keep the radar on during our maneuvering around some
rain squalls. Today the wind is just about straight East of us, so we
have both sails rolled out from the front roll up furler foil. We
hope that threatening clouds on the horizon in front of us will move
on out of the way so we can keep moving.

MUSIC: Our regular car radio music system has bit the dust. It was a
nice CLARION stereo that lasted from 2008 till now! We cannot play our
music to the cockpit speakers, with it, but will try to get a
replacement somewhere. We have been listening to all the music on an
iPad mini playing thru the Urban Ears speaker. We have 5 broadway and
West End musical shows we have played a lot, plus a wonderful 44 hour
book on tape that EFK has loved on WWII’s concluding years: The GUNS
AT LAST LIGHT by Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Atkinson — highly
recommended!
