SUPPORTING WOUNDED VETERANS ANNOUNCE PLANS TO HOST THEIR FIRST ‘OCEAN CHALLENGE’ EVENT IN JULY 2018

SUPPORTING WOUNDED VETERANS’ mission is to help medically discharged wounded veterans back into meaningful civilian life and employment. The key programs include ‘skihabilitation’, mentoring, pain management in conjunction with King Edward VII’s Hospital, London, occupational training and providing a family support network.

On the back of hosting its annual ‘Skihabilitation’ events, the charity is hosting for the first time ever an OCEAN CHALLENGE event. This event will be a fun, demanding, adrenaline fuelled and competitive sailing event consisting of five days of intensive training and one day of racing with the fleet participating in the Isle of Wight  ‘Round The Island Race’ on 7 July, along with 1,500 other competing yachts racing around the Isle of Wight. The Ocean Challenge will ensure that able bodied and disabled sailors compete on equal terms, after their intensive training.
