Dutch bluewater yacht builder Contest Yachts has partnered with the Ancasta Group to form Contest Yachts UK.

As Contest Yachts continues to expand in crucial markets, the company is establishing Contest Yachts UK as a dedicated UK sales organisation. With the move, this firm says it aims to bolster its sales network and enhance its presence in the UK.

The news comes after Contest Yachts’ recent expansion in the APAC region, with the appointment of an Australia and New Zealand dealer in February and an East Asia dealer last year.

“As one of the largest yacht sales companies in the UK, and with over 35 years’ experience, Ancasta is the ideal partner for Contest Yachts in the UK as we endeavour to amplify our reach around the world,” says Arjen Conijn, chief executive of Contest Yachts.

“The dedicated Contest Yachts UK team will be able to draw upon Ancasta’s considerable yacht sales and service expertise to introduce new owners to our high-quality Dutch approach to performance bluewater cruising, as well as offer an unparalleled level of service and support to our owners.

“We are very confident that in Ancasta, we have found the right partner to build our brand and grow our presence in the UK.”

Contest Yachts, a family-run firm with a history spanning six decades, is based in Medemblik, the Netherlands.

“The UK’s maritime past and sailing heritage make this an important market for a leading yacht builder such as Contest Yachts,” says Nick Griffith, Ancasta Group’s managing director.

“With its 60-plus year history of incredible craft, from the Olympic class Flying Dutchman dinghy in the early days to the remarkable performance bluewater cruising yachts of today, we are delighted that Contest Yachts has entrusted us to represent it in such a significant market for the brand.”
