British boatbuilder Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has appointed Penny Wakeling as the manager of its new brokerage service.

Cockwells is based in Mylor Creek Boatyard near Falmouth in Cornwall. The firm is known for Duchy Motor Launches and Hardy Motor Yachts and its customised superyacht tenders. Two of its boats are set to achieve fame starring alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Netflix Original Back in Action.

Cockwells has established its new dedicated brokerage service to help sell used Cockwells vessels, which enter the market as clients upgrade their boats to larger Duchy Motor Launches or Hardy Motor Yacht designs.

“Penny is the perfect fit to take the reins of our new brokerage service,” says Cockwells’ founder and sales director, Dave Cockwell. “Having been involved professionally in the marine sector for more than 15 years, Penny is no stranger to the industry, with eight of those years spent in business development and as a marine yacht broker, selling luxury high-end vessels. We congratulate Penny on her appointment and wish her every success in her new role.”

Wakeling has worked in the after-sales team for the past few years. “I am delighted to have been offered the opportunity to manage the increasing availability of Duchy Motor Launches and Hardy Motor Yachts on brokerage as Cockwells continues to develop these popular brands,” she says.

“As our loyal customers upgrade to larger Duchys and all-new Hardy models, we can now offer their original vessels through our brokerage for new owners to enjoy. It is a real privilege to be part of such a passionate company with a bright and ambitious future ahead.”
