Barantech appoints marine sales director
Barantech, a global leader in customised HMI solutions, switches and control panels, has recently appointed Barry Chapman as its sales director for marine & luxury yachts.
Charged with growth and expansion of Barantech’s range of high-spec products within the European marine sector, Chapman will be working closely with manufacturers of both power and sailing boats, to ensure that their vessels are equipped with the latest digital switch technology.
Based on the UK’s south coast, Chapman has owned and skippered yachts out of the Solent for many years. In previous roles he has implemented technology solutions in the construction industry, and it’s this experience in sales, marketing and product management, combined with his passion for sailing, that has inspired him to join Barantech’s commercial team focusing specifically on marine customers.
“During my time in construction, I’ve witnessed the accelerating transition from dated legacy technology across to digital systems and touchscreen solutions,” says Chapman. “I see many parallels with the marine sector, as skippers, crew and guests increasingly demand a more ‘connected’ boat, with reliable controls and intuitive interfaces at their fingertips. I believe that Barantech’s wide range of customisable and IP68-rated HMI solutions are well-placed to meet these expectations, both now and in the future.”
Chapman’s role will involve fostering relationships and partnering with boatbuilders across Europe, including attendance at the many boat shows and trade exhibitions planned globally throughout the calendar.
