Benetti Giga Yacht FB275, one of the biggest yacht in the Azimut-Benetti fleet and part of the 20 per cent global market share for mega yachts

Azimut-Benetti Group is – yet again – number one in the production of mega yachts over 24 meters. It’s leading the industry in the Global Order Book 2025, an annual ranking by Boat International. The latter compiles data from 185 shipyards on five continents.

“Twenty-five years at the top of the sector represent a true ‘record within a record’, a testament to our unwavering entrepreneurial vision which is based on an organic, resilient and sustainable growth strategy aimed at creating durable value that lasts over time,” says Giovanna Vitelli, chair of Azimut-Benetti Group. “This is the privilege and the responsibility of a private family company.”

The group has 164 units under construction, giving a total of 5,905 metres, corresponding to 20 per cent of the global market under examination by the Global Order Book. These data reflect the record results of the last financial year, which ended on 31 August 2024 with revenues of €1.3 billion and an order portfolio that extends to 2029.

The group believes its market strategy has always stood out for its balanced distribution of business between the main markets: Europe, the United States and MEA-APAC. This approach allows for strategic management of the offering, while helping to mitigate local risk and reduce exposure to destabilising factors.

The group prides itself on many of its strategies including product leadership, quality, and employing the best people and utilising their skills.

It says its innovation is now focused on emission reduction. This means it’s using the best available technologies to achieve significant results in the short term. It’s integrating advanced naval architecture, hybrid technologies and HVO biofuel and says that Azimut is the only brand in the industry with a fleet where over half consists of Low Emission Yachts and that offers four levels of electrification (from mild to full hybrid). Meanwhile, Benetti offers hybrid versions of almost its entire range (with more details of the hybrid spec on the company’s website).

Currently, a total of 10 hybrid mega yachts are under construction at the Benetti shipyard. In the B.Yond line, among the 13 units sold, seven are hybrids.

Both brands have created a range devoted to maximum reduction of CO2 emissions. According to the group, the Seadeck Series by Azimut achieves -40 per cent CO2 emissions over an average year of use, and B.Yond by Benetti achieves -24 per cent CO2 emissions and -80 per cent NOX.

Recently, the group teamed up with Ogyre – a platform dedicated to recovering plastic waste from the oceans in collaboration with those who live at sea daily. The partnership, facilitated by Ogyre’s ‘Fishing for Litter’ initiative, aims to collect 18,000 pounds of plastic from the oceans in 2025.
