Dometic fridge

Dometic has announced the continuation of its long-standing partnership with Finnish adventure boatbuilder, Axopar.

From 2025, the Axopar 37 XC Cross Cabin model will feature the recently launched Dometic NRX S refrigeration unit. The NRX S will also be available for other Axopar models, marking the tenth year of collaboration between the two companies, which began in January 2014.

Axopar has committed to equipping its entire 2025 production with the Dometic NRX 50S. This marine refrigeration unit is designed to deliver energy-efficient cooling, combining a compact design with a high-quality finish. According to Dometic, the NRX S uses up to 25 per cent less energy compared to similar models, consuming 0.22 kW per 24 hours. The unit can be powered by solar energy, with its compressor speed adapting to ambient temperatures for efficient cooling in various climates.

The NRX 50S offers a 46-litre capacity, including a removable 4.4-litre freezer compartment, and will be standard on the Axopar 37 XC Cross Cabin. Its predecessor, the Dometic CRX 50S, is installed on Axopar’s current models, while other refrigeration solutions, such as the Dometic CU 55 cooling unit paired with a VD02 evaporator plate, are tailored for different onboard needs. Some Axopar models also feature the Dometic CoolMatic CD 20S, a compact drawer refrigerator.

Dometic has additionally provided Axopar with DVF vent filters for use in holding tanks.

Juhani Nikkanen, materials project manager at Axopar Boats, says: “We chose to integrate the Dometic NRX Series into our AX37 for a number of key reasons: its unparalleled energy efficiency aligns with our sustainability goals, its sleek design complements the AX37’s aesthetics, and its exceptional build quality ensures reliable performance which is crucial for our customers’ peace of mind.

“The NRX Series’ versatility allows it to function as a fridge, freezer, or both, catering directly to a wide range of our customer needs. Additionally, its attractive pricing offers a cost-effective solution without compromising quality, making it the ideal choice for our AX37.”

Eric Fetchko, president of the marine segment at Dometic, adds: “We are proud of our long-standing supplier relationship with Axopar. It’s testament to the quality of Dometic’s innovative and smart solutions which are preferred for the market-leading vessels of this prestigious boatbuilder.

“The NRX 50S marine fridge will add an extra level of design, functionality, and efficiency to Axopar.”

The Dometic NRX S product line includes six sizes, ranging from 35-litre to 130-litre capacities. It was launched in the EMEA region in August 2023.
