UK-based expedition yacht builder Archipelago Yachts has expanded its dealership network by adding Expedition Yacht Experts (previously Seaton Yachts) based in Newport, RI.

The British powercat builder, in collaboration with Chartwell Marine, will join the line-up of yachting brands at Expedition Yacht Experts, Archipelago’s second US dealership. The firm appointed Oaksmith Yachts as its first US dealership, located in the Pacific Northwest, in February.

John Clayman, the president of Expedition Yacht Experts, is a seasoned mariner with over 100,000 offshore miles on both sailing vessels and expedition-style powerboats. He specialises in metal boats.

“Here at Expedition Yacht Experts, providing high quality vessels for our customers is one of the most important aspects of what we do,” says Clayman. “Because of this, Archipelago Yachts will be a perfect addition to our offerings. I am excited to show our customers everything the brand has to offer.”

Since 2005 Clayman and his team have specialised in the design, construction, and sales of new and brokerage seagoing sail and motor yachts. Clayman now represents several leading boat brands in the Americas. He recently launched Expedition Yacht Experts. He says the new branding better reflects the variety of vessels and services that he provides.

The Archipelago models, 40, 47, 52, and 63 will be available to Seaton Yachts / Expedition Yacht Experts’ customers.

“It brings me great pleasure to welcome Expedition Yacht Experts to our expanding network of dealerships,” says Stephen Weatherley, founder of Archipelago Yachts. “What drew me to John Clayman and Expedition Yacht Experts was its high level of professionalism and care towards its customers, which perfectly aligns with Archipelago’s ethos. I look forward to welcoming all new prospective US clients and showing them everything we have to offer in our innovative range.”
