antares 44 catamaran under sail

Integrel Solutions, a marine power generation and hybrid propulsion technology firm, has secured a supply agreement with Antares Catamarans to equip the company’s range of cruising catamarans, including the flagship Antares 44, with the Integrel e-drive system. The partnership aims to enhance sustainability and efficiency in marine propulsion.

The Integrel e-drive is an energy generation and electric hybrid propulsion system designed to offer energy-independent boating for environmentally-conscious boat owners. The system integrates propulsion and energy management into a single, efficient unit, allowing owners to seamlessly switch between fuel and electric power while reducing emissions.

Balance Catamarans was appointed as the first OEM boat builder to adopt the e-drive system earlier this year. On dual-engine catamarans, the system provides up to 40hp of electric propulsion and 30kW of clean, quiet power, eliminating the need for traditional generators.

Trevor Howard, CEO of Integrel Solutions, comments: “We’re proud to partner with Antares Catamarans, a company synonymous with excellence in long-range cruising. The Integrel e-drive aligns with Antares’ commitment to offering their owners a cleaner, more efficient way to explore the seas. We look forward to seeing the e-drive system enhance the exceptional sailing experience that Antares is known for.”

President of Antares Catamarans, Sancho Castro, highlights the partnership’s benefits: “Integrel e-drive is a natural fit for our catamarans. Our customers demand high performance, reliability, and sustainability, and Integrel’s e-drive delivers on all fronts. We’re excited to incorporate this innovative system into our new builds, enabling longer voyages with reduced environmental impact and offering our owners a quieter, greener cruising experience without compromising performance or comfort.”

The implementation of the e-drive into Antares’ catamarans signals a further step toward the marine industry’s ongoing efforts toward more sustainable solutions.
